MWC Associates Ltd. was founded in 2007 by its CEO, Marcia Woon Choy, a former corporate and commercial banker, who saw a need for an integrated approach to the development of the business sector since financing alone would not cause businesses to thrive and achieve sustainable growth. Her focus therefore, is on building of the capacity of business owners and leaders to effectively build, grow and lead their companies to achieve sustainable growth, abundance and success for their organisations; and the people who work and benefit from them, for a more abundant Jamaica.
The vision of ActionCOACH International, “World abundance through business re-education” resonated with Woon Choy, and inspired her to start the first ActionCOACH franchise in Jamaica as part of her mission to help achieve a more abundant Jamaica, including the lives of its people. As such, in April 2010, MWC Associates Ltd. commenced operating the first single-unit franchise of ActionCOACH, the World’s Leading Business and Executive Coaching firm, in Jamaica.
After a successful four years, in 2014, the Company acquired the exclusive rights to operate with multiple business coaching licences for ActionCOACH in Jamaica under the firm model.
MWC Associates Ltd.’s team of Certified Business Coaches, coach business owners across all industries in Jamaica, to take their business from good, to great. Under the ActionCOACH Brand, the Company has coached clients to achieve top awards at the North American Business Excellence Forum (BEF) Awards, including two CEO’s of the Year (2014 and 2017); Female Entrepreneur of the Year (2015) and two Best Import/Export Company (2018 and 2019). The local ActionCOACH Firm is an award-winning firm, having attained Global and Regional Awards for two of its Coaching Programmes, ActionCLUB and GrowthCLUB.
The firm is very proud of the partnerships it has established over the years with many of the major financial institutions in Jamaica, as well as funding agencies.
It is an approved Business Development Organisation under the Development Bank of Jamaica Voucher for Technical Assistance programme. The Company, to date, has coached hundreds of local businesses and also acquired customers in Grand Cayman and Canada with Jamaican linkages.

In order to deliver on our vision, recognising that leadership development is an area that must be developed in order to achieve sustainable business growth in Jamaica, we utilise three business coaches, certified by The John Maxwell Team as Coaches, Speakers and Trainers, who are authorised to coach and train using the leadership development material and content of the world’s number one leadership expert, John Maxwell.
Globally, another substantive issue plaguing the business sector is disturbingly low team engagement levels, resulting in the loss of productivity, ultimately affecting company profitability.
To address this issue, MWC Associates Ltd. acquired the licenses and right to operate in Jamaica, Engage & Grow, a team engagement programme to refocus, reenergize and reengage the most important assets to your business - your people. Engage & Grow was founded in Australia by Richard Maloney, and is one of the fastest growing Team Engagement Companies in the world, operating in over 80 countries worldwide. The Company now uses its Group Activation System, packaged in a variety of programmes, to address low engagement levels of team/employees in companies around the world.

CEO
A former career banker, Marcia Woon Choy founded MWC Associates Ltd., a consulting and training company, in 2007, and took up the post of CEO. In 2010, she subsequently became the owner of the first franchise in Jamaica of ActionCOACH, the world's number one Business and Executive Coaching Firm headquartered in Las Vegas with franchises in over 65 countries globally.
After four years of outstanding performance of the ActionCOACH franchise, she bought the license to operate the ActionCOACH Jamaica Firm with exclusive rights to the Jamaican market. Marcia is currently ranked in the top two per cent of ActionCOACH business coaches in the world and her firm, ActionCOACH, has been ranked in the Top 10 Business Coaching Firms in the World.
A powerful and persuasive presenter and motivational speaker, Marcia Woon Choy has inspired hundreds of business owners and their teams to achieve higher levels of excellence for both their businesses and for themselves. She has had the distinction of having five of her Jamaican clients win the prestigious ActionCOACH Business Excellence Forums (BEF) Awards for the Americas - CEO of the Year Award in 2014 and 2017; Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2015; and Best Import/Export Company in 2018 and 2019, for achieving outstanding business results based on her coaching. She also claimed for herself, a top coach award, the ActionMAN Award for 2015, and Engage & Grow US/Caribbean Best Coach and Firm 2018/2019 BEF. Her firm has also won Global Awards for their GrowthCLUB planning workshop and twice for their ActionCLUB Group Coaching programme, and three times won the Regional BEF Coach Awards for the same ActionCLUB Group Coaching programme. She also won the 2018 Global Inspirational Coach for Engage and Grow in its first Global Awards.
Marcia is a John Maxwell Team Speaker, Trainer and Coach, a Licensed Engage & Grow Group Activation Coach, and also a MasterCOACH for other coaches globally. She is also currently the Coach of Scotiabank Jamaica’s Scotia Vision Achiever Programme.
Marcia holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology and Marine Ecology, Post–Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, and Executive Masters of Business Administration with Distinctions from the University of the West Indies.
A devoted family person and Christian, Marcia is purpose driven and a regular attendee of the Transformed Life Church.
Director
Christine McMorris started her career as an Auditor at KPMG in Miami, Florida and continued at KPMG Jamaica as Audit Manager. While at KPMG, she managed mainly financial audits in the Banking and Financial sector. After spending six years in the public accounting field, she immediately went to work for Citibank, N.A. in Jamaica as Financial Controller and Vice-President where she remained for 12 years. During her tenor at Citibank, in addition to her duties as Financial Controller, she managed Credit Card Operations and Finance, and the Quality Assurance department.
Christine subsequently left Citibank to assist with the creation of new investment development company, Kronos Limited, as Director and CFO/COO, posts she has held for the last 12 years. At Kronos, Christine acts as lead consultant for responsible for financial modeling, budget/projections and operational procedures development for all major client projects. In addition, she specialises in company and project financial architecture, operations design, audit and control.
Christine has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting from University of Miami. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica.
Company Secretary
Sonia Sykes serves on the board of MWC Associates Ltd. as its Company Secretary. She is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in her major of Economics and Management Studies.
She gained a wealth of experience in Marketing and Advertising after a sojourn with Paisley Kelly Advertising shortly after graduating from university.
In 1991, she assumed the post of Marketing Manager at Jamaica Property Company Ltd., the real estate arm of the Pan Jam Group, where she has served for over 20 years. In her current post, Sonia is responsible for the leasing of all the office and retail spaces in the company's portfolio, comprised of buildings owned by the company or managed on behalf of other property owners.

The Jamaican ActionCOACH firm has won 3 years in a row “The ActionCLUB of the Year” Award in the Americas at ActionCOACH Sponsored Business Excellence Forum Awards in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
This is our premier Group Coaching Programme geared for Micro, Small and Medium sized Businesses.
We are not just the best in the Region but we have also won Global Awards. The Jamaica Firm had the distinction of winning Best GrowthCLUB in the World at our Global Conference held in Bali, Indonesia.
Then in 2016 we won Best ActionCLUB in the World at our Global Conference in South Africa.
This performance was awarded once again at our 25th Anniversary of ActionCOACH Global Conference held in Hamilton Island, Australia where we won Best ActionCLUB in the World.
MWC Associates Ltd. now operates two licenses from the Global Firm Engage and Grow which specialises in Team Engagement.
Since 2016, the Jamaica firm has won Best COACH (shared between Coach Marcia Woon Choy and Coach Tanya Powell) and Best Firm of the Year in 2018-2019 at the Business Excellence Forum awards held in Charleston, North Carolina.
Coach Marcia has also won the Global Inspirational Coach which will be awarded at the Engage and Grow inaugural Global Conference in August 2019 in Bali, Indonesia. She has been ranked regularly in the top 20 Engage and Grow Coaches Globally.
At the ActionCOACH Regional Conference held in Curacao in 2018, the Jamaica Firm also won the Best Caribbean Firm in the Region Award.
